- Hi all,
-
- A healthy dish of skepticism was recently served up by Ross Cohen
- (rycohen@acsu.buffalo.edu). The critiscms were well placed and not
- unexpected (you gotta take the good with the bad). I just wanted to
- take some time to respond and let you know we're listening. Yes,
- surprise, we do read the newsgroups and we do hear you.
-
- I'm not going to give you a lot of condescending rhetoric because your
- comments deserve an honest response. I'll be as forthright as I can.
-
- The success of a platform has always depended on the developer base and
- user community. We all know too well what you've endured (a lot of us
- are ex-C= folks) and the loyalty of the Amiga developers/users has been
- amazing. This speaks volumes for the belief in the potential of the
- Amiga technology. A hardware box is nothing without good apps and we
- realize the crucial role played by developers.
-
- Now to answer the comments
-
- > So VisiCorp bought the Amiga not knowing whether it planned
- >to make *new* Amiga PC's. This should definitively tell people where
- >the corporations real interest lies. And this, of course, is what
- >is really scaring people. Escom had comitted to the new machines -
- >PPC, RTG, etc. You have not.
-
- First off, I apologize for being a bit vague but things have been
- moving pretty quickly around here. There are a lot of deals,
- negotiations, and partnerships that are in the works. It would be
- improper (if not illegal as we are a publicly traded company) for
- anyone inside the company to prematurely reveal this information. I
- know you're hungry for information and I ask your patience. There
- *will* be more announcements made in the very near future, just keep an
- eye on our web site at http://www.vistv.com.
